We came across this great website, GoodShop, that allow you to contribute to your favorite charities at the same time you book your travel online. Start your search at Goodshop.com, choose a cause and then begin shopping at any of the dozens of travel Web sites–Travelocity, Expedia, Budget Rent-A-Car, Delta, and the like. Every time you complete a transaction, a certain percentage or dollar amount of your purchase will go to the charity you’ve chosen. It’s that simple!
Aside from travel, they have dozens of categories, so you can take care of any shopping needs before a trip — all while giving to a cause of your choice. Goodshop has more than 900 of the top Internet retailers and travel sites including Amazon, eBay, Target, Apple, Expedia and more have joined forces with GoodShop.com to donate part of every purchase to your favorite charity or school at no additional cost to you (more than 72,000 nonprofits are now on-board)!
Goodshop is a spin-off of Goodsearch, another site you might want to check out. This search engine donates about 50 percent of revenues (this currently equates to about a penny per search) to the nonprofits or causes designated by their users. This is totally free as the money comes from advertisers. To give you a sense of how the money can add up, the ASPCA has already earned more than $23,000!
