We’ve recently came across a search engine that is helping to end world hunger. Hoongle is an advanced Google search that raises money to fight world hunger. For every search, Hoongle donates the monetary equivalent of 20 grains of rice through the UN World Food Program. This is part of the UN’s “Fill the Cup” program; Hoongle’s donations go towards the purchase of well-balanced meals that consist of nutrient-rich items that deliver a broader array of vitamins and minerals than rice alone. The quality of your search results is equivalent to that of other search engines, as Hoongle outsources its searching engine to Google. The result is an easy-to-use, socially conscious search engine.

We know – 20 grains of rice doesn’t sounds like a lot, which is why it’s important to think globally. If you use the search engine twice per day every day of the year, you will contribute about 15,000 grains of rice.
2 x 20 x 364 = 14,560 rice grains
1 user = 15,000 donated rice grains
100 users = 1,500,000 donated rice grains
1,000 users = 15,000,000 donated rice grains
100,000 users = 1,500,000,000 donated rice grains
1,000,000 users = 15,000,000,000 donated rice grains
If you get your friends involved, you can be involved in a movement that will feed thousands of hungry children.
Think about it!
